Emanuele Russo

Emanuele Russo was born in Naples in 1977. He studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of Naples Federico II, where he attended the prestigious Department of Internal Medicine. There, he began to delve into issues related to the management of infectious diseases and acquired knowledge in epidemiology. He graduated with honors in 2002 with a thesis entitled "Clinical and Epidemiological Aspects of HCV-Related Chronic Hepatitis in Patients with Hemochromatosis." He attended the specialization school in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the University of Naples Federico II, gaining expertise in anesthesiology and intensive care, with a particular focus on the management of critically ill, neurocritical, and polytraumatized patients. He also completed periods of training in other national facilities. He earned his specialization diploma with honors in 2006, with a thesis entitled "Role of the Calcium-binding protein S100B in Severe Sepsis: A Link Between the Nervous System and the Immune System," which was published in the British Journal of Anaesthesia. In 2006, he was hired by the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit at Bufalini Hospital in Cesena, an advanced center (HUB) for trauma, neurosurgical, neurovascular pathologies, and respiratory failures treated with ECMO. In 2019, he was appointed to a senior professional role in Neurosciences, and in 2022, he was entrusted with the management of the "Intensive Care and Trauma Treatment Unit - Cesena." During these years, he conducted observerships in Intensive Care Units at Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, Erasme University Hospital in Brussels, and visited numerous prestigious national institutions. In 2021, he completed a specialization course in "Management for the Administration of Complex Healthcare Structures" at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Department of Economics "Marco Biagi." He has nurtured a passion for scientific and epidemiological research. To date, he is the author of 81 scientific publications and a member of the editorial board of the journals BMC Anesthesiology and Discover Health Systems. His areas of interest range from intensive care to neuroscience, epidemiology, bioethics, and the management of infectious diseases. In 2024, he obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the position of Associate Professor in the Competition Sector 06/L1 - Anesthesiology.

Andrea Strada

Andrea Strada was born in Bologna in 1967. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1992 and specialized in Internal Medicine, specializing in Emergency Medicine in 1999 at the University of Bologna, discussing the thesis entitled "Prognostic stratification of unstable angina using Holter and markers of myocardial damage". In the years 2000-2017 he worked in the Emergency Department and Emergency Medicine, first in Imola (BO) then in Ravenna. He dealt with time-dependent clinical pathways (e.g. STEMI), took care of educational aspects for cardiorespiratory emergencies and the triage of patients in the emergency room. In 2014 he obtained the Managerial Training Certificate from the Managerial Training Course for Manager of Complex Structures organized by the Emilia-Romagna Region at the University of Ferrara. From 2017 to 2021 he directed Emergency Medicine (Emergency Room and Emergency Medicine) at the University Hospital of Ferrara. From 2022 to today he has been Director of the Emergency, Internal Medicine and Cardiology Department of Ravenna in ASL Romagna. He has participated in numerous conferences as a speaker on emergency medicine topics. His areas of interest are cardiorespiratory emergencies, ECG teaching, health management and philosophy.
